US Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams was on the “TODAY” show for an interview Monday morning. He warned Americans that the spread of the coronavirus will get worse this week. Adams also reminded us about how people in the US are not following the mandates put in place to protect the American citizens. This is causing the virus to spread rapidly as the country and the world work to contain the spread.
Adams told the host of the “TODAY” show, “I want America to understand this week, it’s going to get bad.” He warned how young people are not heeding the warnings, and it is making everyone’s life difficult, especially those who are at the forefront of fighting this disease. Adams stated, “Right now, there are not enough people out there who are taking this seriously.”
It can be difficult for people to isolate and stay home. What these idiots do not realize is the longer they fight the orders and disobey, the longer we all have to suffer. The virus spreads rapidly, they don’t understand the selfish young people have deaths on their hands as they are a significant part of the problem. People are dying as they are spreading this virus.
The orders are simple. Stay at home. Practice social distancing and keep your hands clean. Those are the three top rules to follow. As we turn on the television, we see the beaches are full, the malls are packed, and it is mostly the young generation completely ignoring what they are being told. This is the millennials America has raised. It’s ashamed!
The Surgeon General continued, “Everyone needs to act as if they have the virus right now. So, test or no test. We need you to understand you could be spreading it to someone else. Or you could be getting it from someone else, stay at home.”
Young people are susceptible to the virus, and some have died. They just don’t care. If martial law goes into a full-blown effect, they will wonder why. These selfish people are the reason we cannot enjoy anything nice. Some people who contract the virus will not be enjoying life, especially if they lose it.
As for medical supplies, Adams was asked about utilizing the Defense Production Act. He stated many companies are volunteering and pulling together along with the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) already available. There was no need to force anything at this time due to the generosity of American companies.
Adams explained, “Here’s the thing that people don’t understand. You don’t need to compel someone to do something they are already doing.” He said, Hanes, and Honeywell are among those supplying the needs in large quantities.
The Surgeon General also explained, “The other important point is that we’re not going to ventilator our way out of this problem. We’re not going to treat our way out of this problem. The way you stop the spread of an infectious disease like this is with mitigation measures and preventing people from getting it in the first place.”
This is one of the most trying times since 9/11. Many people are following the rules, but others think this is a joke. This is not a joke. We are all experiencing some form of disruption in our everyday lives due to the rapidly growing epidemic.
Americans need to follow the instructions of those who are in charge. Staying home is always harder when we are forced to stay put. If people would follow the orders, they are not telling us to lock our selves inside. Those who do not follow instructions will be the cause of all of us in America to have the next step, which lockdown.
Fear is growing as fast as the virus. We must all remain calm and keep the practices going until the virus dies out. It will die out, and it is like the President stated, “We will win!”
One of the best ways to remain calm is to enjoy the family. Play games, talk, put the phones down for a change. Those whom we live with are the ones we may be spending quite some time in the coming weeks.
America is strong and is always coming together in times such as these. This is a drastic change in the norm, but it doesn’t have to be as bad as the media makes it. Family time in our homes may be what the world needs to come together.
