Are They Serious? CNN Host to Do Documentary on Fake News!

It looks like CNN, the recently crowned champion of fake news is about to have the host of one of its programs do a documentary, and you won’t believe what the topic of that documentary is about, no really, you won’t believe it. That’s right, fake news!

On the heels of their recent debacles such as the leaked smear-campaign against President Trump or their out-of-court settlement over the lawsuit involving a high school student, it appears as if they are going for broke. How broke?

Well, as one story said it, “Just a week after news broke about CNN settling a massive lawsuit over its fake news coverage of Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann, WarnerMedia announced Wednesday that CNN’s Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter is making a documentary about the rise of fake news that will debut in March on HBO.”

Do you need a minute to process that (and to stop laughing)? Go ahead, take your time.

Somewhere, in some Vegas betting lobby right now, someone is placing bets on the Neilsen ratings for that show! Yes, this is that same CNN network, the one that had hours of video and audio recordings revealing the concern of their employees leaked, regarding the integrity and direction of the network.

And how does a major news network, after that embarrassing and damaging revelation not just keep their head down and get back to doing it the right way? We don’t know either, but this latest aforementioned lawsuit doesn’t suggest they are heeding that or any other pieces of wisdom.

The lack of trust, the questions surrounding their reliability, and the ugly legal issues make it difficult to even speak of CNN as a “news” network. Is anyone going to take this documentary seriously? Apparently, HBO is, or at least we think they are.

To be specific, according to the story, ‘After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News will examine the phenomenon of “fake news” in the age of social media and the impact that the trend has on average citizens, according to a release from WarnerMedia… .’ It does sound serious.

But maybe that is why WarnerMedia (parent company of both HBO and CNN) is airing this program on HBO. Maybe the lack of trust attached to the CNN name would wreck the credibility of such a documentary. Or maybe they are doing it because HBO is an entertainment network, or maybe HBO is just more trustworthy than CNN in the eyes of viewers now?

From this point, it is entirely too close to call, which is funnier? Is it the fact that the documentary is entitled “…the Cost of Fake News” being led by a news network host that has experienced that expense even within the same week the documentary was announced? Or is it that the host, Brian Stelter’s own show on CNN is called Reliable Sources?

Funny, unfortunately, might not be the proper verbiage in light of how many people have been led astray, defamed, or injured by these abuses. That lawsuit regarding Sandman, for example, was to the tune of $275 million. Perhaps sad, careless, or just plain wrong would be better descriptions?

Still, that isn’t stopping CNN’s parent company or its personalities from pressing on, as if it were business as usual. Unless there is a surprise coming during this new documentary? Can you imagine that…

“Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is Brian Stelter, and I am here to tell you – don’t do what we do and what we did at CNN…,” the host would begin. No, that isn’t going to happen, but it would be a start wouldn’t it?

What is the cost of fake news? Those costs are still being counted and they are going to be considerably more than $275 million. In fact, we will never know how much it costs in ways that can’t be counted in dollars and cents, and that isn’t funny at all.

Wasn’t there a time when CNN was a trusted source of news? Wasn’t there a day when they were deemed the iconic news source for media and television? And now?

Come to think of it, maybe a CNN host is the perfect candidate to lead a documentary about the cost of fake news after all.

  8. What you say is quite correct. The problem is, all those that take CNN as gospel are so weak-minded they don’t know TRUTH when it bites them in their STUPID asses. If it were only ignorance that had to be battled. It could be overcome by education. It isn’t it is complete STUPIDITY! There isn’t any cure for Stu[itidy. Liberalism, you can role all the other ism’s into it, Socialism, Atheism, communism. Satanism, all of it belongs to Satan. The U.S.A. has allowed the liberals to control our children through liberal schools and the fact that less and less parents care about GOD.

  9. Must’ve hired Michael Moore to executive produce…

  10. Get your head out of there.

  11. “CNN said Monday that three journalists, including the executive editor in charge of a new investigative unit, have resigned after the publication of a Russia-related article that was retracted,” reported CNN’s Brian Stelter. “Thomas Frank, who wrote the story in question; Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit; and Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, have all left CNN.”

“Kathy Griffin, host of CNN New Year’s Eve special lost her contract after she published a photograph in which she appeared to be holding a likeness of the President’s severed head.”

“CNN severed ties with host Reza Aslan after he tweeted a series of vulgar posts about Mr. Trump. And another story that inaccurately predicted the congressional testimony of James B. Comey was retracted.”

“Semi-automatic weapons-CNN apologized for a May 15, 2003, story in which CNN’s John Zarella and Broward County, Florida Sheriff Ken Jenne demonstrated the rapid firing of fully automatic firearms while covering the federal Assault Weapons Ban, due to expire the following year. The Assault Weapons Ban was concerned solely with semi-automatic firearms, not fully automatic ones, which had already been restricted by the National Firearms Act of 1934, and the subsequent 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act.[10][11]”

“On April 3, 2016, hundreds of supporters of Bernie Sanders protested outside of CNN Los Angeles. Sanders supporters were protesting CNN’s coverage of the 2016 United States presidential elections, specifically in regards to the lack of airtime Sanders has received. Known as Occupy CNN, protesters claimed that major media networks have intentionally blacked out Sanders’ presidential campaign in favor of giving much more airtime to candidates such as Hillary Clinton.[12]”

“In a disastrous interview this week, CNN analyst Areva Martin accused Sirius XM and Fox Nation host David Webb of benefiting from “white privilege,” but she failed to realize that he’s black.”

“CNN’s Brian Stelter recently said, “We don’t see CNN or the New York Times rooting for any president, whether a Democrat or Republican.”…..In October 2016, the head of the DNC and former CNN contributor Donna Brazile was caught giving Hillary Clinton debate questions she received from the network.”

“Another example of direct support for Hillary Clinton from the globalist media network can be seen in a clip where CNN anchor Chris Cuomo says, “we couldn’t help her any more than we have.”

“CNN once put a glowing gold filter over a video of Hillary Clinton to portray her as a glowing angel of light.”

“The network claimed Hillary Clinton won a presidential debate, but they were called out for using a weighted survey that sampled 41 percent Democrats compared to 26 percent Republicans.”

“CNN blatantly cut off a reporter who dared to point out how hypocritical it is for Hillary Clinton to pretend to care about the black community after her and her husband helped shape the laws that put so many minorities in prison.

“CNN anchors Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon fraudulently made their case that the onus for the viral confrontation between the Covington Catholic high school students and Native American elder Nathan Phillips was completely on the students.”

  12. I have worked with the likes of the broadcast industry in the past. They have never done anything to change my mind about them being pompous. arrogant. egotistical and extremely biased!!!!

  13. Are you sure it isn’t an Autobiography?

  14. You are right about Chris Wallace and Juan Williams, and I couldn’t believe they brought Donna Brazille on board. But, I bet you weren’t talking about them, were you? Basically, the ones you say are lying, Tucker, Hannity, Ingraham, Watters, Guttfeld and the like, are ruling their slots because they have proven over and over again to have the story right. From the Duke Lacrosse team to the stories about mass shooter’s motives, CNN and the rest all jump to push narratives before waiting for the facts to reveal the story. Like the kid from Covington HS in Kentucky. Mr. Sandman. They didn’t bother to watch the full video or verify the facts before breaking what amounted to a smear campaign that was picked up by fools who also began to pile on and the 17 year-old started getting death threats and demands for his father’s firing. He just won a 14 Billion Dollar lawsuit against CNN. Keep your eyes open fool, ABC, CBS, MSNBC and NBC are also on the list and will also be chipping in. FOX is the ONLY one who got this right. Stop listening to the JV and start watching FOX or stay ignorant.

  15. I was wondering if Laura Jarrett, daughter of Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s chief advisor and friend of the Obamas for many years, was still with them. That would explain a lot of bias information. To change the subject, I’m curious if any of J. Hammer’s , New York Post information regarding the President’s “executive power” reached any of these media stations. The constitution has empowered the President in foreign relations, which includes the management of foreign aid. J. Hammer, also, shares that in a court case of 1936, the U. S. Supreme Court vs. Curtiss Wright Export Corp, states, that the President is the main manager of foreign relations and does not depend on the approval of the Congress. Really, Pelosi and her team have “obstructed the President’s duties, and with held the Ukrainian General Prosecutor Shokin’s information in their whole process.” Thankfully, President Trump and his administration has accomplished so much, in spite of the Socialist Democrat’s harassment, slander and accusations.

  16. They should have Nancy do one on what to do when your party know they can’t win the presidential election

  18. 19. It should be labeled as a comedy.

  20. cNN and FOX News have the lowest percentage of truth than any major networks

  22. More like a “mockumentary”!
