China is a country that likes to play games. They like to drag out meetings and play around with the intent of getting the other party to wear out and concede to their demands. This has been the reality of the trade negotiations with China as they have pulled out of talks several times. They are deceptively hoping that the United States will go weary of the game and just sign something to move forward. But that is not the way that President Trump takes care of business. He is patient and forceful in his approach to dealing with people and nations that do not deal fairly.
President Trump knows that pressure works. He knows that if a nation has enough pressure put on them, then they will be more willing to work fairly just to save themselves. China is no exception. President Trump has placed an enormous amount of pressure on them by the tariffs that are currently driving up their prices. The tariffs have propelled silly China to the trade table. When they pulled away the first time, President Trump imposed more pressure, and they returned and remained.
China is just like rough Russia. They seek to exploit and take from people wherever they can. China likes to subvert and place wedges between nations hoping to weaken and divide them. So, they can move in and take away their freedoms and place all the people under the oppressive regime of communism. President Trump knows the game and that is why he has stepped up the number of military patrols in the South China Sea.
The military move is designed to educate the Chinese leaders that freedom is there to stay in the South China region. There will be no bullying tactics allowed from China to the smaller free nations around them. Oppression is just not an option for the United States and its free allies. Mark Esper has been very clear on this point as he has said that the United States “rejects attempts by any nation to use coercion or intimidation to advance international interests at the expense of others.”
Esper is also encouraging other free nations to step up and do the right thing. China has been going down a path of destruction for too long. The United States and the free nations around China want to see them as a lawful nation. And not as a nation with the reputation of Russia. One that speaks lies only to subvert and destroy wherever they can. Esper went on to say that “The clear signal we’re trying to send is not that we’re opposing China per se, but we all stand for international law, and that we think China should abide by them as well.”
The United States is getting China to play fair at the negotiating table. The way that they treat other nations has gone on for a long time. They have been deceitful and have taken advantage of smaller countries for years and their advantage. The level of maneuvers in the South China region has increased to send the single that the mighty United States is alive and well. There will be no more funny business done to the nation or its allies.
Geng Shuang, who is the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the United States likes to ‘fan the flames’ and create ‘chaos in the South China Sea.’ Geng added that China was working with regional countries to ensure stability and urged the U.S. to stop acting as a ‘disruptor.’” China has to say something to save face. They have been acting like nothing the United States has done has affected them, but they are struggling. Companies are starting to pull out of China because they can no longer afford to transact business there.
The United States is committed to honoring and its allies. No nation will interfere and invade while the United States is around. Freedom is still the best way to live and the President of the United States has certainly made freedom a strong reality for all Americans.
