President Trump Makes Shocking Statement On Comey Investigation

The United States Federal court system got its hold on former FBI Director James Comey last week.  He was forced to face the lies and deception which took place under him as the director of the FBI.  The DOJ decided not to prosecute Comey, and Attorney General William Barr was praised by President Trump after it took place.

Trump Tweeted, “The fact that James Comey was not prosecuted for the absolutely horrible things he did just shows how fair and reasonable Attorney General Bill Barr is.  So many people and experts that I have watched and read would have taken an entirely different course. Comey got Lucky!”

Thursday, a report was released by the DOJ’s Office of Inspector General, stating, “The department had decided not to prosecute Comey for retaining memos about interactions with the Trump White House and for disclosing one such memo to the media.”

Inside the first paragraph of the introduction of the report, it sums up the entire case, but there were still violations which were broken for which Comey was not in trouble for.  The worst of the violations came when Comey was fired, and he kept memos on his personal computer.  Comey also used those memos to share with friends after he was terminated as the director of the FBI.  He is guilty but cleared only on the classified leaks of the memos.

“This report describes the investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ or Department) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) into the creation, storage, and handling of certain memoranda (Memos) written by former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James B. Comey. Between January 6, 2017, and April 11, 2017, while Comey was Director of the FBI, he memorialized seven one-on-one interactions that he had with President-elect and President Donald J. Trump.

Throughout this report, these Memos are referred to as Memo 1 through Memo 7, numbered chronologically according to the date each Memo was written. Comey, who had original classification authority as FBI Director, marked a small amount of information in Memo 1 as classified at the time that he wrote it. Comey also believed that Memo 3 contained classified information when he wrote it, but did not mark the document as classified. Comey kept signed originals of Memos 2, 4, 6, and 7 in a personal safe in his home and, following his May 2017 removal as FBI Director, provided his attorneys with copies of Memos 2, 4, and 6, and are dated version of Memo 7; Comey never took copies of Memos 1, 3, and 5 to his home, and never shared these Memos with anyone outside the FBI.”

The Department also rebukes Comey and criticizes him for breaking the policies of the FBI and Justice Department while he was handling investigations which were sensitive cases under the law enforcement.  Comey was cleared of the alleged events which took place while the classified information was leaked under his watch.  Trump fired Comey and said he was a weak FBI chief and a leaker not long after he became president.  He appointed special counsel Robert Mueller which led to nothing but problems which we still hear about three years later over the “obstruction of justice” which never happened.

Friday morning, President Trump vented over Twitter stating, “The disastrous IG Report on James Comey shows, in the strongest of terms, how unfairly I, and tens of millions of great people who support me, were treated. Our rights and liberties were illegally stripped away by this dishonest fool. We should be given our stolen time back?” Trump was speaking about the two years he spent doing his job as president and fighting all the allegations he faced from Democrats.  They were too quick to point the finger at him only to find out he was innocent.

Comey fired back on Twitter right after the reports were released.  He expressed how the reports cleared him on the disclosing of classified documents.  He stated, “I don’t need a public apology from those who defamed me, but a quick message with a ‘sorry we lied about you’ would be nice.  And to all those who’ve spent two years talking about me ‘going to jail’ or being a ‘liar and a leaker,’ ask yourselves why you still trust people who gave you bad info for so long, including the president.”  The truth is, it is just like President Trump said, “Comey got lucky.”
