Hell must have frozen over, and the devil must have purchased a snowmobile and giving free rides. Obamacare took a heavy blow Wednesday in the House Democrats. The majority of Conservatives have been against it from day one, but the Democrats own a vestment into Obamacare. It was surprisingly a shocking event to see an almost unanimous vote to repeal the Obamacare tax.
They not only shot down the key cost, but they also shot down the lifeblood of Obamacare, which was the way it was supposed to have “paid for itself.”
Everyone on the Left was sold on the biggest corruption in healthcare from Former President Obama, they never thought of the repercussions to come from it. They thought the high tax would keep the insurance cost down. It quadrupled the cost of healthcare, forcing every American to get insurance they not afford. Some “Affordable” Health Care huh?
It drove Employers to bring other plans in which caused workers to make just enough money to pay for insurance and nothing else. Then whoever did not have insurance would have to pay a penalty when the income tax season came around. Obamacare was a ripoff. Unions disliked Obamacare, business groups could not handle it, and Republicans hated it because the whole thing was unconstitutional. In 2017, President Trump ended the penalty. We can thank our president for sure!
This move has cut almost $200 billion over the next ten years off the deficit. Others disagree like May MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget stated, “We are re-entering an era of trillion-dollar deficits, and Congress is considering yet another massive tax cut. It appears there is no end to this madness. The Cadillac tax is one of the most important tools we have to control health care cost growth in the private sector.
Repealing it will drive up health care costs while adding more than $1.2 trillion to the debt over the next two decades.” Does she not know people rather paid the penalty than pay the insurances because the penalty was cheaper for most. Some people do not think things through especially when the businesses could not even handle or liked Obamacare. It was a disaster for all of healthcare.
After being delayed two previous times, the tax was to go into effect in 2022. Only three Democrats wanted the tax to continue. The House amazingly drove out Obamacare, putting nails in the coffin with a 419 to 6 vote. Democrats who took the floor denounced the tax like they did not even own it. But they did, and they stole from the American people. People are beginning to catch on and put the Democrats in hot water as the people are turning up the heat.
Since President Trump took office, Obamacare has been strangled until we have reached this point of burial. The administration put in place the promotions of “short term” healthcare insurance policies, and the cutting of cost for Obamacare promotional sign-ups. It sucked the life right out of the corrupt trash and left Obamacare as a skeleton completely exposed. It is exposed so much that even the Democrats who strongly supported it can no longer claim ownership. Need a shovel?
The Democrats who supported the Cadillac Tax are now falling away from the idea claiming it will hurt the middle-class workers. The liberal economist is coming around, and the unions are backing and pushing Democrats to repeal. The Economic Policy Institute’s president, Thea M. Lee, stated, “To put it simply, the tax aims to reduce patients’ utilization of health care. But the glaring problem of U.S. health costs is not excess utilization; instead, it is high and rising prices for health care.
Smart cost-containment policy should address these prices, not seek to ratchet down how much care patients seek.” According to the budget office, the overall cut back on the federal deficit is projected to be $197 billion by 2029.
The overall statistics show employers have been less generous with the Obamacare plans. Since President Trump took office and now Congress has to fix the mess they made by allowing Obamacare, by eliminating the tax, it brings more employers closer to giving better benefits in the healthcare area.
Eliminating Obamacare completely, lowering the cost of medical care and medications, holding insurance companies to reasonable deductible rates, and better coverage rates will be the key to a greater economy when it comes to healthcare.
