It seems as though this is going to be the election where the Dumb Democrats show off just how dumb they are.
This time, the spotlight is on Julian Castro as he decides to talk smack about the meeting that President Donald Trump had with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un. Castro, who wasn’t in the meeting with Trump, said that the meeting was “all for show.”
Now, don’t you think that the President of the United States has better things to do than to simply meet with the leader of North Korea for fun? Castro’s clearly not thinking things through before he points his finger.
Any real progress?
Castro wants to see the kind of progress that’s being made with North Korea. Until he personally sees some serious progress, he’s not going to be happy with what Trump is doing behind closed doors.
Kim Jong Un isn’t exactly the easiest dictator to get along with. He doesn’t like to have meetings often, so when he does agree to one, the best thing for international relations is for Trump to agree to meet him. Additionally, it’s not as if Jong Un is level-headed, either. This is the same dictator that considered reducing his weapons program in exchange for spending some quality time with some NBA basketball players. Seriously? It sounds like Castro is criticizing the wrong person in the meeting.
Castro says that he is all about speaking with our adversaries. Oh, well, that’s nice of him. Maybe he’s not aware of what the job description is for being President. He probably should have Googled that before he decided to raise his hand and become one of the umpteen Democrats who decided that all they want to be when they grow up is the leader of the free world.
Why are the visits unsuccessful, according to Castro?
Castro said that the visits are unsuccessful because Trump isn’t going through “conventional means” to set up the visits. However, there’s no handbook in place for how a President needs to meet with a dictator who is hell-bent on testing out nuclear missiles. It’s not always easy to set up a formal meeting or summit. Sometimes, it’s necessary to have an impromptu meeting.
Castro could be in serious trouble if he’s getting this upset about a meeting that wasn’t “conventionally” formalized. Seriously, the man needs to get his priorities straight. How about realizing that North Korea has to be dealt with using any means necessary. Castro likely held staff meetings and held other meetings without using a formal process. It’s called getting the job done.
If he’s going to keep stomping his feet around DC because Trump is having meetings that he’s not privy to, it’s going to show just how inept he would be as President. Although, his shoddy resume and lack of real draw in the polls is another indicator that he’s not likely to get the DNC nomination. Although he’s still got a few months to prove himself, he’s too busy throwing a temper tantrum. That’s about par for being a Democrat for the 2020 election, though, so it isn’t even shocking behavior at this point.
Kim Jong Un is Unpredictable
It’s only fair to point the finger where it belongs. Kim Jong Un is completely unpredictable. He doesn’t follow the rules of politics and he goes back on deals that are made with world leaders all the time. This isn’t anything new. If Castro really is surprised by this, then he hasn’t been paying close attention to what’s been happening in the US or anywhere else for that matter.
When the Singapore Summit happened, Trump said that North Korea wasn’t a threat any longer. He did so because of the deal struck with Jong Un. Why would Trump be motivated to lie? He has two more years in office, so that kind of lie would surely circle back and bite him in the rear. This means that he absolutely told the truth – the truth based on taking Jong Un at his word.
Oh, but guess what?
Kim Jong Un, the boy dictator, has had his sanity and stability questioned on more than one occasion. He’s dangerous, he’s a risk-taker, and he does what he wants. Even after Trump and Jong Un reached an agreement, he kept testing missiles. It happens.
All this means is that Trump has to negotiate a new deal with him. This will require doing things a bit differently because Jong Un does things a bit differently. Castro will have to get over it because this is how the big boys play. Castro will have to sit this one out until he can find his big boy pants.
